As you will learn by reading more about Joey Lowenstein, he communicates very effectively with a letter board through the use of the Rapid Prompting Method (“RPM”), a communication methodology founded by Soma Mukhopadhyay to assist those with autism in expressing their amazing thoughts and ideas.

Today, as part of Joey’s morning RPM lessons with his teacher Matthew Kennedy, Joey wrote an election story.  Included in the story are side notes and comments about Joey’s interaction with Matthew to show how Joey integrated certain environmental factors into his creative process.

Matthew engaged Joey in a meditation exercise which consisted of “breathing in love and breathing out fear” as a way of helping Joey focus his energy.

Joey told Matthew before beginning his story:

J: YOU REALLY THINK OF THE BEST THINGS FOR MY MATURATION.

YOUNGSTERS ON THE RISE TO POWER (Title)

MOMENTS BEFORE THE NEXT ELECTION THERE SAT A BOY WHO WONDERED HOW THE WORLD WOULD BE DIFFERENT IN THE NEXT FOUR YEARS.

HE WAS SO NERVOUS THAT HE CHEWED HIS FINGERNAILS WITH PANIC AND VIGOR.

WHEN THE CANDIDATES WORK ONLY FOR PERSONAL GAIN IT REALLY SHINES THROUGH IN THEIR SPEECHES.

WHEN YOUNG FOLKS LISTEN TO BOLOGNA THEY OFTEN FREEZE UP WITH FEAR.

WONDERING IF YOU ARE BEING HOODWINKED ON TV, CAUSES FEAR TO MULTIPLY INTO TERROR, AND TERROR TO MULTIPLY INTO PANDEMONIUM.

THE ONLY WAY TO REPLACE THAT MONSTROUS FEELING OF FEAR, IS LOVE FOR FELLOWS ON EARTH.

THIS YOUNG TOT WAS SO HIP TO THE WAYS OF THE WORLD, THAT HE MIGHT REGULATE HIS LIFE THIS WAY.

Environmental Note:  It was getting quite hot and stuffy in the classroom, so Matthew cracked a window. Cool air poured into the room . . .

THOSE PEOPLE IN THE ELECTION REALLY NEED TO CRACK A WINDOW AND THINK OF A WAY TO REORGANIZE THEIR PRIORITIES WITHOUT LETTING THEIR EGOS RUIN IT FOR THOSE IN NEED OF LEADERSHIP.

WON’T WE PLEASE AS A WHOLE BREATHE IN LOVE AND EXHALE FEAR?
